Cradle to CradleCM

EcoVeil® Mecho®/ 5 UrbanShade®

Cradle to Cradle CertifiedCM is a certification mark licensed by the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute. The Cradle to Cradle (C2C) Products Standard is an approach to designing products which considers manufactured materials to be technical nutrients. The idea is to create products that are not merely efficient but are, in essence, waste-free. They should be able to be recycled and manufactured into new, first-quality products again and again—circulating perpetually in a closed-loop cycle and making the most of their materials.

And the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED® Certification program offers various credits for buildings that use Cradle to Cradle Certified products.

Products and manufacturers are assessed in five categories:

Material Reutilization.
Material Health.
Water Stewardship.
Renewable Energy and Carbon Management.
Social Fairness.

MechoSystems has had three of its products C2C Certified Bronze. It is the only roller-shade company to ever have had its shadecloth and hardware system Cradle to Cradle Certified.

MechoSystems' C2C Certified products:

EcoVeil® shadecloth series.
Mecho®/5 manual shade with any EcoVeil® shadecloth.
UrbanShade® manual shade with any EcoVeil shadecloth.

MechoSystems' C2C Certified products confirm that the company takes into account its impact on the environment and human health throughout the lifetime of a product. MechoSystems recognizes the value of using materials that can be can be used over and over again.
